At Evangel Assembly we believe in the tremendous power of prayer. It is an awesome tool given us to touch Heaven and cause change on earth affecting the lives of our audiences and the world at large – “On Earth as it is in Heaven.

Prayer features prominently in our services.  There are moments where special prayers are offered, often lead by an individual while the rest of the congregation audibly participates. Some may pray in tongues. Prayer for the sick may include the pastor anointing the sick with olive oil and with the assistance of church elders along with pastoral associates lay hands on the one seeking healing.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Corporate and Intercessory prayers are a main stay of the Prayer ministry, and indeed a power base of the church. We believe in miracles and the power of God’s intervention to alter things supernaturally.  Regular prayer nights are held once week while an all-night prayer event is held on the first Friday of every month. Intercessory prayer teams get together to pray matters through. Hundreds of praise reports and testimonies have been given as a result of God’s answer to many of these prayers.
